Reward attendance with personalised certificates.

v2.49 6 min read Attendance
Brand new!
In short —

Design a certificate of attendance, choose who gets it, and attendees download their own personalised PDF from the event site. Add a description and signatories supported, availability windows configurable, mailshot integration ready to go — and a complete recipient dashboard for admins. No external tools, no manual mail-merge.

Attendance certificates have always been one of those jobs that felt small but ate hours of admin time — fiddling with Word templates, chasing spreadsheets, mail-merging, re-exporting PDFs, then emailing them out one by one. v2.49 ends all of that with a complete, end-to-end attendee certificates system built right into Evessio.

Design your certificate

The design starts in a familiar place — Email Templates > Attachments. v2.49 ships with a ready-to-use Event Attendance Certificate template that you can use straight out of the box, or tailor to your programme.

You can add adescription, a display date, and a signatory — three details that make the certificate feel genuinely professional and ready to be shared on LinkedIn, filed for attendee record, or framed on an office wall.

Choose who gets it

You've got two complementary ways to pick recipients — pick whichever one fits the situation at hand:

Method 1

By ticket type & status

Target recipients by the ticket types they bought and their current ticket status — with the option to further narrow to only those who checked in at least once.

Ticket type Ticket status Checked in
Method 2

By spreadsheet upload

Upload a spreadsheet of email addresses — each row carrying an Issue, Deny or Skip action. Only people already registered for the event are matched.

Issue Deny Skip

A natural partner for check-in

Only certify who actually turned up.

Issuing certificates only to attendees who checked in is a single tick-box away. For CPD-accredited events, in-person conferences and any programme where attendance is the point of the certificate, this is a game-changer. Pair it with the Evessio iOS Check-in app and the whole flow becomes effortless.

Attendees download their own

Here's the real quality-of-life win: your attendees get a new Certificates page in their account on the event site, where they can download their own personalised PDFs — during the availability window you choose.

No chasing emails, no "can you resend my certificate?" tickets, no admin bottleneck. Attendees simply log in, find the page, and get what they came for.

— 04 —

Send a mailshot with the download link

To make the hand-off even smoother, v2.49 introduces a brand new mailshot variable. Drop {{ CERTIFICATES_URL }} into any mailshot — or pick it from the Variables panel as Member certificates page URL — and every recipient receives their own personalised link straight to their Certificates page.

One mailshot, every attendee gets their own personal link to their own certificates page. The sort of small detail that makes a big workflow feel genuinely polished.

Track, manage, and audit

A rich admin dashboard sits behind the whole feature — so you always know who's got what, and can intervene when you need to:

  • See who has downloaded

Download counts, recipient names, every detail you need at a glance.

  • Issue or deny individuals

Override the automated recipient list on a case-by-case basis.

  • Download any certificate yourself

Grab a PDF for any recipient when you need to.

  • Export the recipient list to Excel

Pull everything into a spreadsheet for finance or compliance records.

Record keeping, built in

Once downloaded, kept forever.

Once a certificate has been downloaded, it can be disabled but not deleted. You always keep an audit record of what was issued and claimed — perfect for CPD compliance, finance audits, or just peace of mind when someone asks "did I get that certificate?" three years later.

Where to find it, who can use it

You'll find Attendee Certificates in your admin under Attendance > Certificates. It's deliberately scoped so that only the right people on your team see it:
