Having turned to Evessio’s Awards Room for help, the event took place on 25th November and was hosted by Stephen Mulhern, who brought the VIRTUAL house down with his well-known humour and even a live Catchphrase competition!

Despite the challenges 2020 has brought, the Security & Fire Excellence Awards received a record high number of entries in this year’s competition. The awards continued to be supported by IFSEC International and FIREX International alongside headline sponsors First Response Group and Aico.

The desire to get together and celebrate remains strong despite COVID-19 restrictions and this was evident in some of the guest feedback received through the Awards Room’s chat functions which saw one guest declare “So glad to have you in a room, even if it is virtual!”.

Many guests also recognised and appreciated the chance to connect, chat and celebrate together with one stating “The awards ceremony may be virtual but the enjoyment and celebrations won't be!!” and this is testament to how the Awards Room can deliver an engaging and interactive awards celebration.

The organisers of the awards really engaged with the Awards Room and utilised its capabilities to stage a memorable event. The awards started off with the industry’s karaoke rendition of Wonderwall by Oasis and this theme continued throughout the evening with the awards announcements being supported by high energy stings from “Rockaoke”.

It all goes to show that “live” can be translated to digital without losing any excitement or celebratory vibes!
